The Chinese Astrological system also has twelve signs but they are not based on constellations. The Chinese year does not begin on the 1st of January like the Western calendar. In Chinese Zodiac Compatibility there are four groups which are called “Trines”. In each Trine one sign is grouped with two other signs. The signs of the four Trines are:

First Trine: Rat, Dragon and Monkey.
Second Trine: Ox, Snake and Rooster
Third Trine: Tiger, Horse and Dog.
Fourth Trine: Rabbit, Ram and Pig.

People in the same Trine have similar qualities and they are best suited for close romantic relationships. They attitude towards life is the same because they have similar personalities.

The signs in the First Trine are the most powerful and passionate of all the four trines. Their relationships are strong and intense.

The Second Trine is calm and quiet in nature. They are respected by other people for their careful nature.

The animals in the Third Trine are full of energy and they have their own individual identity. They can be very good love partners and they are reliable and faithful.

The Fourth Trine signs are the weakest of all the trines because of their nature. They are abused by the other groups as they are not strong as the other animals and give in easily to them
